Our long grain natural brown rice is a great product to have.  This rice is chemical free.  Natural brown rice has more nutrients and has a nuttier texture and flavor to it than white rice.  Because only the outside hull is removed, natural brown rice does not store as long when compared to long grain white rice.  Natural brown rice can be used in the place of white rice in all of your dishes.  It can be used to make Spanish rice or used for Chinese dishes; it is also great for Hawaiian haystacks.  This is a must have for your food storage. 

Shelf life estimates are based on industry studies from sources deemed reputable. Since Rainy Day Foods has no control over individual storage practices, they must disclaim any liability or warranty for particular results.

Shelf Life:  Should be stored in cool dark place- optimum condition is 60 degrees or less- for longer storage. Storing properly in our enameled cans and Super pail buckets, product may store 6 months to 1 year. The natural oils may cause brown rice to go rancid.  Bulk products need to be repackaged for long term storage.

Nutritional Information

Directions:  Add 1 cup rice to 2-2 ½ cups cold water.  May add 1 tbsp. margarine or butter and 1 tsp. salt.  Cover with lid and bring to a boil.  Lower heat and cook 45-55 minutes, keeping lid on but stirring several times.  Fluff with fork before serving.
