Our green split peas is a lovely legume that is makes a very hearty soup.  Green split peas are also great for making your own hummus.  Green split peas are perfect for long term storage needs.  They are hearty.  They provide a great source of fiber and vitamins that will help you and your family out.  These are great and as delicious as it is easy to use.  A need for your long term food storage-not just a necessity!

Green split peas are great in making split green pea soup, hummus, or pea and ham soup.  These peas are high in protein and fiber.  They add color to your dishes.  This is a delicious addition to your food storage staples.

Note: Due to elevation and/or temperature changes, buckets may be concave or convex upon arrival, normally this is not a problem. Buckets may be reshaped by removing lid, reshaping bucket and then replacing the lid. Product is not compromised since it is protected by the mylar bag.

Shelf life estimates are based on industry studies from sources deemed reputable. Since Rainy Day Foods has no control over individual storage practices, they must disclaim any liability or warranty for particular results.

Shelf Life:  Should be stored in cool dark place- optimum condition is 60 degrees or less- for longer storage. Storing properly in our enameled cans and Super pail buckets, product may store up to 10-15 years. Bulk products need to be repackaged for long term storage.

Directions:  Rinse.   For overnight soaking, cover each cup of peas with 3 cups water and let stand overnight or 12 hours.  Rinse and cover with water.  Bring to a boil and simmer about 1 hour.  May use seasoned stock made from chicken, beef, ham or other meat.  Chopped vegetables may be added if desired.   Season as desired and serve.
