Our lentils are a wonderful product to have on hand.  Lentils are high in fiber and iron.  They are easier to digest compared to other legumes.  Lentils also do not require soaking like you have to do with other legumes.  They take on spices and other flavorings that you add to them.  They are also easy to grind up and make meatless patties out of them.  Lentils are great for soups, casseroles, and other dishes.  Lentils are also easy to sprout if you like to add sprouts in your dishes.  This is a delicious addition to your long term food storage.

Lentils have a distinctive, earthy flavor and are great for sprouting. They are high in protein and iron and can be used in soups, casseroles and mixed with rice to make a great main dish. Shelf life estimates are based on industry studies from sources deemed reputable. Since Rainy Day Foods has no control over individual storage practices, they must disclaim any liability or warranty for particular results.

Shelf Life:  Should be stored in cool dark place- optimum condition is 60 degrees or less- for longer storage. Storing properly in our enameled cans and Super pail buckets, product may store up to 20-25 years. Bulk products need to be repackaged for long term storage.

Directions:   Add 1 cup water to 1/3 cup lentils and simmer over low heat.  May add to casseroles and soups.  Also great sprouted.
