Oat groats is  a wonderful grain that provides protein, are high in fiber and are heart healthy.  Oat groats can be grinded down to make your own flour. These also make a great breakfast cereal. Oat groats are the whole grain that regular oats and quick oats are made.  So they have higher nuturient value than regular and quick oats.  This is a must have for your long term food storage.

Oat groats are a versatile product to have on hand.  Oat groats are the whole oat with only the outer husk removed. Oat groats have been stabilized and will not sprout. They may be cooked whole or ground into flour. Oat groats are nutritious and fiber-rich. Oatmeal is made by steaming and rolling these whole oat groats.  A great addition to any long-term food storage program.

Shelf life estimates are based on industry studies from sources deemed reputable. Since Rainy Day Foods has no control over individual storage practices, they must disclaim any liability or warranty for particular results.

Shelf Life:  Should be stored in cool dark place- optimum condition is 60 degrees or less- for longer storage. Storing properly in our enameled cans and Super pail buckets, product may store up to 20-25 years. Bulk products need to be repackaged for long term storage.

Directions:  These are whole oats with only the outer husk removed. Oat groats may be cooked whole or ground into flour. Oatmeal is made by steaming and then rolling these whole groats. Stabilized, not for sprouting.  For cereal cook 45 minutes with 3/4 cups water and 1/4 cup oat groats.
