Our parboiled rice is perfect for your long term storage needs.  Parboiled rice has been steamed and then dried after which the outside hull layer is removed.  It cooks up faster than regular rice and has less starch in it because of the steaming process.  Parboiled rice is perfect to make one pot meals, soups, and easy camp meals that you can make ahead of time and just throw into a pot of boiling water.  Parboiled rice is used throughout the world and can be used for different cultural dishes.  This is a must have for your long term food storage needs. 

Ingredients:  Enriched long grain parboiled rice, iron ferric phosphate, niacin, thiamine mononitrate and folic acid. This product is non-GMO.

Shelf life estimates are based on industry studies from sources deemed reputable. Since Rainy Day Foods has no control over individual storage practices, they must disclaim any liability or warranty for particular results.

Shelf Life:  Should be stored in cool dark place- optimum condition is 60 degrees or less- for longer storage. Storing properly in our enameled cans and Super pail buckets, product may store up to 20-25 years. Bulk products need to be repackaged for long term storage.

Directions:  Add 1 cup rice to 2 1/4 cups cold water.  May add 1 tbsp. margarine or butter and 1 tsp. salt.  Bring to a boil.  Lower heat and cover with lid.  Simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand covered 5 minutes or until water is absorbed.    Fluff with fork before serving. 

For firmer rice, use less water and reduce cooking time. 

For softer rice, use more water and increase cooking time.
