Parboiled rice is a great long grain white rice.  This rice has more nutrition than regular white rice.  It is great for soups, casseroles, and other dishes that need to hold up without going mushy.  It is great for fried rice dishes, because the rice will not go all soft.  Parboiled rice is not minute rice, it is something more.  This is a must have for your long term food storage needs.

Shelf life estimates are based on industry studies from sources deemed reputable. Since Rainy Day Foods has no control over individual storage practices, they must disclaim any liability or warranty for particular results.

Shelf Life:  Should be stored in cool dark place- optimum condition is 60 degrees or less- for longer storage. Storing properly in our enameled cans and Super pail buckets, product may store up to 20-25 years. Bulk products need to be repackaged for long term storage.

Nutritional Information

Directions:  Add 1 cup rice to 2 1/4 cups cold water.  May add 1 Tbsp. margarine or butter and 1 tsp. salt.  Bring to a boil.  Lower heat and cover with lid.  Simmer 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand covered 5 minutes or until water is absorbed.    Fluff with fork before serving. 

For firmer rice, use less water and reduce cooking time. 

For softer rice, use more water and increase cooking time.
