One of the best ways to avoid food fatigue is to incorporate spices and seasonings into your everyday cooking.  A basic ingredient, such as pasta, can be dressed up several different ways  just by altering the type of sauce  that is added at the end.  Rainy Day Foods has a great spaghetti sauce mix, an alfredo sauce mix, and cheese blends that can all help you to avoid food fatigue with your basic pasta. Another great option is this tomato powder-based sauce with spices and spinach.

Ingredients: 1/2 lb pasta of choice 1/2 cup tomato powder 1 cup water 1 tsp garlic powder 1/2 tsp dried basil 1/4 tsp dried thyme 1/4 tsp dried rosemary 1/4 tsp each salt and pepper

1/4 cup freeze dried spinach

Directions:

Place pasta in 1 quart of boiling water. While it is cooking, stir together the tomato powder, water, and seasonings over medium heat. Bring to a simmer and allow to cook for 5 minutes. Drain pasta and stir in the sauce.  Add the freeze dried spinach and stir until rehydrated.  Serves 2-4. Tips and Notes: Increase the water and seasonings of the tomato sauce to achieve your desired thickness and taste. Add a little brown or white sugar to the tomato mix if your prefer a less acidic sauce.
